What I offer:

I am available to see people of all ages who are seeking therapeutic counselling for a wide range of personal and relationship issues.

You may wish to have just a few sessions, a longer series, or to work on an open-ended basis. We can agree whatever is appropriate for you.

I offer you the chance to discover your resources for finding your way forward, within a supportive, high-quality and ethical facilitative relationship. Coming from a humanistic perspective, I am convinced that we already have within ourselves the best therapeutic resources for us. I will work together with you to discover yours and to start to use them to your benefit.

My Experience:

I am a counsellor of over twenty years' experience, working in what is known as a 'person-centred' style.

As well as my private practice, I work for the Counselling Service for Children and Young People in Dudley.  Over the years I have been actively involved both in counselling and in counselling training in a variety of settings, including business, voluntary organisations and churches. I have worked with people facing personal or work issues, struggling with relationship difficulties, suffering from post-traumatic stress, and with the unemployed and those seeking career counselling.    For many years I was a senior counsellor and leader on the counselling team at the annual 'Greenbelt Festival', engaging among other activities in crisis counselling with young people.

I initially came to counselling through teaching and youth work. In parallel I developed a role as a trainer and consultant to voluntary organisations and to industry. My broad experience has confirmed my belief in the infinite worth of human beings just because they are human, and has led me to reflect much on how the demands of life can erode our perception of our own worth.

I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Registered Practitioner on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors. As such, I work within their Ethical Framework. I am also a qualified teacher and social worker and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

My private counselling practice is based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
